Live Coverage Today, Unveiling of Draft Development Plan

Can’t make this afternoon’s Destination Medical Center Corporation (DMCC) Board meeting but still want to know what’s happening? Visit our blog for live updates throughout the event, and follow us on Twitter @dmcmn and #dmcmn.

Today’s big-ticket item is a first look at the compiled draft of a comprehensive development plan, including some stunning new visual concepts, for various areas within the DMC district. (We’ll post it on the DMC website for you as soon as the DMCC Board gets a peek.) The draft plan outlines private and public investments and strategies to help guide the planning, financing, marketing, and construction of DMC initiative.

The proposed plan is intended to help guide—not dictate—future development. The plan sets a flexible framework that responds to market conditions with a strategy of facilitating future development, based on mutually established priorities of the DMCC and City of Rochester.

Following today’s meeting, the Destination Medical Center Board and Economic Development Agency will hold an information session and reception to give the public additional time to review the proposed plans and ask further questions. The DMCC Board aims to submit a formal proposed plan to the City of Rochester on January 29, 2015.

Both the DMCC Board meeting and the information session and reception are free and open to the public.
