Month: July 2025

Community Survey Now Open

In early 2025, we began the process of updating the DMC Development Plan by looking back at the first 10 years of progress, milestones, and lessons learned. You can explore that reflection here: Ten-Year Milestone Overview.

Now, we’re entering the next phase: gathering feedback to hear your thoughts about the future work of the DMC initiative.

We’ve structured a survey organized around three principles:

  • Health in Design – How public spaces and infrastructure support well-being
  • Health as an Attractor – What makes Rochester a place where people and talent want to be
  • Health as a Growth Engine – How growth can benefit more people and support a strong regional economy

Your perspective will help us better understand how these principles are felt across Rochester today—and where there may be room to go deeper. The survey is open to anyone who lives, works, or spends time in Rochester.

First survey closes: Aug 3

There will be more opportunities to engage in the months ahead, including events and updates as the plan takes shape. To stay informed, sign up for the DMC newsletter and be the first to hear about what’s next.

DMCC Approves Contingency Funding for Link Bus Rapid Transit Project

(Rochester, Minn.) July 22, 2025 – At the July 22, 2025, special meeting, the Destination Medical Center Corporation (DMCC) Board approved additional contingency funding in alignment with Federal Transit Authority funding requirements to support the Link Bus Rapid Transit (BRT) project, reaffirming its commitment to advancing sustainable, equitable transit in downtown Rochester.

The approval ensures that the project remains on schedule and within scope, despite ongoing inflationary and market pressures affecting construction costs.

“This is a transformational project for Rochester,” said Executive Director Patrick Seeb. “Link BRT will enhance how people move throughout our city—connecting residents, workers, and visitors to opportunities. The DMCC’s support for this milestone investment demonstrates confidence in the long-term value of equitable and sustainable transit infrastructure.”

Link BRT will deliver fast, frequent, and reliable service along a 2.8-mile corridor through the heart of Rochester, improving access to jobs, healthcare, housing, and education while supporting future downtown growth.

The next regular DMCC Board meeting is set for September 25, 2025, at 9:30. a.m.
