Description

The City of Rochester and Destination Medical Center invite you to join us in biking to work (or wherever!) on Tuesday, June 23, 2026, from 6:30 to 9:00 a.m.

This community-focused event encourages residents to bike to work, run errands, or simply enjoy a morning ride while connecting with others and supporting a healthy, active lifestyle.

Bike to Work Day Goals:

  • Encourage biking as part of a daily, healthy lifestyle
  • Support new and existing bicycle commuters
  • Strengthen local bicycling culture
  • Highlight and partner with local businesses and organizations

Group Rides

Participants can join a group ride and meet at one of four breakfast stations located outside downtown Rochester. Each station will be at a park in different quadrant of the city and about a 20-minute ride from outside of downtown, making it easy to join no matter where you’re traveling from! Stations will have free food and refreshments, bike safety and gear giveaways, local biking resources, and the opportunity to connect with fellow riders.

Route Planning

Planning your route ahead of time can make your ride safer and more enjoyable. In Rochester, you can take advantage of local trails, bike lanes, and low-stress neighborhood streets. Choosing a comfortable route (and even trying it out ahead of time) can help you feel more confident on the day of the event.

Downtown Infrastructure

Downtown Rochester offers a growing network of bike-friendly amenities, including bike racks, shared-use paths, and designated bike lanes. These features make it easier to ride to popular destinations and safely park your bike once you arrive.

What to Bring

Bring a properly fitted helmet, a bike lock, and weather-appropriate clothing. Morning temperatures can vary, so dressing in layers is a good idea. Additional items that could support your ride include a water bottle, sunscreen, and phone holder to safely view your route in real time.

Join the celebration on June 23! Stop by a breakfast station, grab some gear, and start your day on two wheels.
