Join us for the DMC Sustainability Speaker Series on Wednesday, October 10, 2018 from noon-1 p.m. at the Rochester Public Library (Meeting Room B, 2nd floor).
This month’s topic is Energy Efficiency in Residential Construction and will explore energy efficiency data collected over the past eight years in residential single-family construction across southeast and southcentral Minnesota. As a small business who has performed energy ratings for more than 2,800 homes since 2011, XRG Concepts will be sharing their data collected and how it corresponds to energy code changes as well as where they see energy efficiency moving in the residential construction industry. They will explain what a home energy rating is, how it is completed, and how the state’s energy code has evolved since 2011. They will also profile a few projects that have gone beyond the requirements of the energy code and what areas of home construction should be focused on moving forward.
