Description
As part of the DMC Sustainability Series, in partnership with USGBC, please join us for a conversation about human health and well-being through sustainable development in Rochester, Minnesota.
In this presentation you will learn why humanity’s systematic disconnection from nature is affecting our health and wellbeing – specifically in our urban centers – and why it is critical we reverse this trend. We will explore current research on nature’s benefits, positive outcomes of nature exposure, and how this all reflects the current WELL Community Standard.
Learning Objectives include being able to:
- Understand why exposure to nature is essential to human health and flourishing;
- Learn about the beneficial outcomes of urban nature exposure in the WELL Community Standard;
- Articulate how nature must weave throughout the ten concepts that make up the WELL Community Standard;
- Identify specific actions/interventions in the WELL Community Standard that can be taken to integrate nature into an urban environment.
CE Credit for GBCI and AIA available at request. Healthy snacks will be provided, feel free to bring a lunch.
