Director of Community and Strategic Partnerships
Guy Finne graduated from Carleton College in 1989 with a degree in Economics. His first 12 years of professional life were spent with the Gamehaven Council, Boy Scouts of America. Guy held 3 distinct roles in those 12 years; two roles focused on traditional scouting programs, with his final role focused on Exploring and Learning for Life. It was that final role that led him to a new opportunity with Mayo Clinic as a Career Awareness Specialist in 2001.
For 11 years, Guy worked with his Mayo Clinic colleagues and many secondary and post-secondary partners to create hands-on learning opportunities to help young people explore and confirm their career interests. Given Guy’s skill in partnerships development, in 2012, Mayo Clinic leadership asked Guy to direct his focus on talent pathway building for first-generation immigrants, veterans, and people with disabilities. In those years, Guy helped to create and lead highly acclaimed programs such as Bridges to Health Care, Project SEARCH, and MaxAbility. Given the successes, this work grew into a Workforce Development team that not only focused on SE MN, but also grew in WI, AZ, and FL. In Guy’s final four years at Mayo Clinic, he led the Office for Academic Partnerships, which worked with the University of Minnesota Rochester and 7 Historically Black Colleges and Universities. Guy was recognized as a Karis Award recipient, the highest honor a Mayo Clinic employee can receive.
In March 2026, Guy “retired” from Mayo Clinic and was presented with an opportunity to support PossAbilities, an organization with which he has a strong familiarity and connection. Today, Guy is the Director of Community and Strategic Partnerships, focused on moving forward with the 20-million-dollar investment called the Achievement Hub.
