Description
The City of Rochester, in partnership with Destination Medical Center (DMC), is reviewing its Destination Medical Center Targeted Business Enterprise Utilization Plan. As a part of Targeted Business Enterprise (TBE) goal-setting methodology, the City will be hosting community workshops. The intent is to increase the number of certified companies locally-owned and operated by women, minorities and veterans and explore ways to increase diversity among the construction workforce.
A community-wide goal setting and capacity building workshop originally scheduled for March 2020 was postponed due to the COVID-19 pandemic. The workshop is rescheduled to an online format on Wednesday, May 20, 2020 from 1:30 – 4:00 p.m. Attendees are asked to contact Jorrie Johnson, Women and Minority Business Goals and Work Force Compliance project manager, at [email protected]. The meeting will be hosted through Microsoft Teams and a link will be shared directly with participants.
Goals for construction contracts with Targeted Businesses (certified women, minority, veteran-owned or economically disadvantaged) are established and monitored by the City of Rochester. An updated plan will be presented to the City Council and to the DMC Corporation Board in the near future for review and future action.
