If DMC is a 20-year development initiative to position Rochester as the world’s premier destination for health and wellness, who better to imagine what the efforts taking place now will eventually yield for our city than the children who, in 20 years, will be working on our community’s next 20-year plan?
Through a school design content, Sean Baker and the team at Med City Beat asked students in grades K-5 at Rochester Public Schools to imagine what they would want their city to look like in 20 years. The students were not given any specifics or parameters; they were simply asked to use their imaginations.
The winner of the contest was Sally, a fourth grade student at Elton Hills Elementary, who clearly shares DMC’s vision for Rochester as a “City of Healing.”
