Some key takeaways: Communication is vitally important; follow the CDC guidelines; wearing masks is important to prevent the spread of the virus; cloth masks will be more prevalent on construction sites; construction is a lower risk industry due to repetition of managing risk and use of proper equipment; the cooperation within a very competitive industry has been unprecedented.

Destination Medical Center is shifting important conversations to an online platform in a new webinar series. The DMC Webinar Series will highlight current community and state topics and invite local experts to provide insight. The first webinar, in partnership with Rochester Area Builders, Inc., is Thursday, April 16, 2020 from 12 p.m. – 1 p.m. and will focus on construction safety during the COVID-19 pandemic. The conversation will include representatives from Mayo Clinic, Benike Construction, Kraus-Anderson, Mortenson, and Olmsted County Public Health.
Destination Medical Center (DMC) and the City of Rochester announced a new grant program to assist Rochester small businesses impacted by the COVID-19 pandemic. The Keep It Local, COVID-19 Innovators Grant Program will reward businesses who are exemplifying innovation and collaboration by working together in response to the challenges posed by COVID-19. The city is offering $50,000 in grant funds with DMC contributing $50,000 to businesses located in the DMC District.
