Description

Sustainability presentation and discussion with Lauren Jensen, Sustainability Coordinator for the City of Rochester.

In 2017 the City of Rochester adopted its Energy Action Plan and set of goals to reduce energy and greenhouse gas emissions. Five years later, the City embarked on a new planning process, creating a community task force to assist in the development of a Sustainability & Resiliency Plan centered in equity. Lauren will share an update on the City’s adopted goals and where it currently stands towards meeting them. She’ll then dive into the planning process behind the Sustainability & Resiliency Recommendations, highlighting the unique community engagement approach, as well as provide an overview of the Recommendations and the strategies developed.

Lauren has worked in environmental conservation, sustainability, and community engagement for nearly five years. Her previous experience includes program management in urban forestry, stormwater, and food systems. Lauren enjoys engaging with residents on all aspects of sustainability, helping to build more resilient communities for all.

The DMC Sustainability Series is free to view.
